Emberá Indigenous Village

For us it is really a pleasure to accompany people to this place in the middle of the rainforest, where nature is plentiful.
These GuidedTours® are visits to one of the Emberá Indigenous Communities within the Chagres National Park and it is an amazing experience where you can learn a lot about the customs and traditions of these nice people.
We pick up you from your hotel and we are going by car to Puerto Corotú (a natural dock) in the Alajuela Lake -one of the lakes that contain water for functioning of the Panama Canal. Then we take a canoe ride to the village, Chagres River stream up. But on the way, we will be walking to a nice little waterfall where people can spend a pleasant moment of relax.
After that, in the village, you can walk around, talk to people, buy crafts or take a bath in the river, while the village women prepare traditional food and we all prepare for the native dances.

These GuidedTours® begin when we pick you up at your hotel at 6:10 a.m. to get to the train station. The train leaves at 7:15 a.m.
About an hour by train from Panama City, we found a number of impressive tourist destinations from beaches, Nature Reserves until Gatun Locks at Panama Canal entrance located on the Atlantic coast of Panama, which now has a stunning viewpoint where can see the construction work of the new locks and Gatun Lake. Moreover, we find the historic site of Fort San Lorenzo protected within the National Park which together with the Monumental Historic Portobelo are evidence of the rich history of Colonial Panama in the Caribbean. Sites of great biological diversity, a breathtaking natural landscapes with an interesting history.
Fort San Lorenzo was the Guardian of the trade route for the Chagres River and Portobelo until the late eighteenth century was the seat of the most important commercial activity between the Metropolis (Spain) and the rich American territories, known as Portobelo Fairs.

Sarigua National Park
"Area of Natural Resource Protection" & Panama Tourist Destination

Sarigua National Park covers an area of 8,000 hectares of marine ecosystem and semi-desert “albina” areas.
When we get there, we can find a tipical construction, the Visitor Center. There are guides with a exact knowledge about the area. Sure, we will enjoy a lot of this tourist destination.
There was an important pre-Columbian settlement here, dated 11,000 years old. The ceramic objects and stone artifacts found here attract scientists who travel from all over the world.Sarigua National Park still preserves pre-Columbian artifacts up to 11,000 years old and a farming village over 5,000 years old.
Sarigua is not a desert, but an area that has undergone a process of salinization (salt in the soil) and is therefore called "Albina". The “albina” covers 80% of the territory and is influenced by tides that keep the salt in the soil.
In 1979 the Sarigua area was designated as an "Area of Natural Resource Protection." Sarigua National Park was later created on October 2, 1984.
